Coats and Beanies Targeting sheltered sites like the Blackberry at Steves Beach & the Morning Glory there too. Choppers could make a start on a Lantana patch over by Woodlands Ck , but first we have to strew Ted's assassinated Crofton along the Stoney Road.   If you see a Formosa Lily as you walk, do dig & bag the bulb before moving on. It would be great to get as many as possible before they flower. And there's always  Andrew 's Amnesia & Lisa's site. Roll up 2023 Plant Dare We have over fifty small plants to put in at sites which are dry & hard so those wanting to plant should bring a spade + trowel and a 2 litre bottle/bucket.  The planting sites are a bit further east on  Woodlands Ck  and a bare area west of  McKellar Glade . There is ongoing chopper work at Woodlands Ck and a major  Blackberry  at the back of  Steve's Beach  needs removal & painting.  And there's still a lot of  Honeysuckle  &  Lantana  root system to be extricat

Things Fall Apart: Wind & Deer A tough few days for our trees with a couple of Wattle wind victims on the Stony Road & another Banksia down, west of the Blackberry patch. Our attempt to save the large Hibiscus looks doomed and a less ambitious Deer has smashed a small Illawarra Flame up the creek & two small trees in the SE Corner.   We should start with some cutting of damaged limbs & some attempts at protective barriers. A saw or two would be handy. Also on the work list: Cape Ivy in SE Corner. more Blackberry work back of Steve's Beach Kikuyu & morning glory in the SPATE/Beach corner Crofton in the Blady Grass 2023 Lack of rain Condons Corner weeds now accessible, inc. Mother of Millions in flower and a big Blackberry at Steve's Beach . Fifty+ plants to go in, mostly Lomandra , Dianella & Kangaroo Grass for Bruce's Square but we'll only put them in if there is decent rain this evening. Showers tomorrow less likely than on yesterday&

Staying Warm  1. We have a big Hibiscus , Deer damaged, that needs propping up.  2  the beach may need another plastic & treated timber sweep  3. new season Lilies are there for the digging 4. there's still blackberry back of Steve's beach  5. Woodlands Ck has resurgent Lantana ripe for the chop  6. Crassula/Stonecrop is in a lovely sunny spot low to the ground  7. Cape Ivy is ready to flower in the South East corner  Dress warm 2023 Cardboarding  We have a donation of cardboard to the cause of Privet obliteration. Its all over there, across the Bridge of Doom in Manifest Destiny , waiting for cutters/slashers to spread it & weight it under previously cut timber. Also, we advance on Woodland Creek and have been advised that the best move at Bruce's Square would be a bit of mattock work on the Honeysuckle root systems, some tough plantings & eternal vigilance. Andrew's Mistake is almost under control but still offers enjoyment for micro-weeders.  Note the

Mustn't Grizzle about Drizzle Assuming a dry-ish morning there are a couple of above water sites in mind where gumboots will only be optional. there's a big fallen over Banksia at the back of Steve's Beach with Blackberry, Lantana & Crofton to be sorted Over towards the SPATE fence is a Cape Ivy patch that needs getting before it flowers/seeds Morning Glory above Ditch needs to be traced and pulled or cut at the base of the trees its monstering the Mother of Millions at the firepit is worth another visit ...and don't forget Andrew's Amnesia !!   2023 Lagoon still overfull  So apart from a few bits & pieces along the Cycleway there will be 3 main targets elsewhere: the weed smorgasbord that is Manifest Destiny finishing? off Andrew's Mistake Woodlands Creek edge; so Ted et Al can get maximum choppage. We'll give watering a break. Some members are off to the Port Kembla Dunes and Coomaditchie Lagoon for a mass planting morning as part of
