 2023 New Years Day 2022 Water needed Please bring some water to apply to our December plantings. Reports are that the odd weed has popped up over the last fortnight.

2023 Christmas day 2022 Activities     Curly dock Rumex crispus   Curly dock is a weed of international proportions. It is long lived and hardy, and seeds can remain viable for up to 50 years. The plant contains oxalic acids, which are poisonous to all mammals in large amounts.  From a smart plant identifier app —— PictureThis! 2021 Activities   Mon 27 December 2021 declared a Bushie Holiday, Mon 3 January 2022 = accept any better offer, 10 January return to "work".  Of course by then WCC may have us off the books again.  Thanks for all your guerilla efforts in 2021.  I've even heard some pleasing public comments over this last month or two.

Last week's leftovers Still have Lilies in SE corner . Steve's Beach has Fleabane and Morning Glory. Andrew's Mistake - Crofton , Wild Tobacco and Purpletop.  2022 Work done Work Targets will be lilies east of Cycleway , our plantings behind Steve's Beach and the weed wonderland that is Andrew's area . 2021 Work list We will attempt to insert about 90 mostly small native shrubs & groundcovers. Please bring 2-4 litres of water, spade/digging trowel.  We may have to do a little clearing in places as it is 6 weeks since we had sites ready.  

December 2nd week

A Few things Choppers may continue along the Stony Road and then across the back of the Blady Grass - mainly for Lantana regrowth Asthma weed and Lilies in SE corner Steve's Beach has Fleabane, Morning Glory and lots of talls reeds shading out our baby Criniums Andrew's Mistake - Crofton, Wild Tobacco, Purpletop, Honeysuckle and Pearl Vine (along the mound) to be pulled off shrubs and trees. Start of McCauleys Beach Estate track there are Lilies , Morning Glory , Fleabane and Bidens 2022 Warm, wet and possible thunderstorm Cape Ivy Our main target are Cape Ivy & Morning Glory in the SE corner plus Lisa's & Andrew's site s where we want to set back the array of baddies before summer flowering /seeding & get back a bit of control.  We are hopeful that Lisa can give us some advice on the 19th re the common reeds Phragmites australis 2021 Weeding again   Needs 2 or 3 workers at 4 sites:  Andrews Site where Privet , Cassia et al are thriving. L

Rules of Operation  stay tuned 2022 Jobs list Lisa's site - cutting back the reeds et al to restore our track, plus a wiry old Cassia on the creek edge at Manifest Destiny ; SE Corner - Morning Glory in flower & some more Cape Ivy ; Andrew's Area needs another attack...its an encyclopedia of weeds; Check the fallen Banksia area behind Steve's Beach where our plantings are under siege. 2021 Weed of the week Purple Top   A fair bit of rescue work from grass growth needed at Condons Corner , the SE Corner and at Lisa's site .
