August 2nd week

Work first for an hour, tour our future estate for 45-60 mins & then picnic among the Casuarinas

Tasks waiting for your energy & expertise include:

Andrew's Amnesia....cutting, untangling, weeding, bagging the Observers Book of weeds
Asparagus City is up the Dirt Track, past our sign & on the left.....some digging, cutting & hanging up to die
North edge of the Blady Grass area theres Blackberry, Lilies Passionfruit, MG, Cassia, Crofton
East side of C'way first 40m from our meeting place has lantana in flower & climbimg MG
Watering if it doesn't rain tonight
Alycia may visit to see us in action, if she is not diverted by sudden issues elsewhere

2025 Deterrence Day

We will have a go at putting in temporary "cages" for our most valuable shrubs & saplings, many of which have already been damaged. There are about 25-30 candidates for our 40m of wire & 11 Star pickets so there will have to be some chainsaw & axe shaping of suitable fallen timber and/or some volunteered stakes. Cable ties & tie wire with pliers should also be useful & if anyone has a Star Picket "donger" it would really help.

If Deer Deterrence doesn't appeal, choppers with loppers could slip into the WARC Zone where a number of fallen Banksias should be cut up & off whatever is underneath.
Alternatively, there's a bit of weeding beside Woodlands Ck & up the Stony Rd (which may be the driest access)...& there's always Manifest Destiny

2024 Go West

The following are priorities:

2023 Solid precipitation

Check the BOM. If we do work it would mostly be along the cycleway, at the Big Blackberry near Steve's Beach, at McKellar Glade & along Woodlands Ck.

2022 War declaration

A declaration of war on Privet & Blackberry.

We have some fallen timber cutting up to continue with, Blackberry is "a hardy perennial" & there is an outbreak of Turkey Rhubarb just begging for attention.

Asparagus Fern fans can play along the creek edge and out in the Blady Grass

Cottonbush flowers are inviting removal.

We'll order some plants this week in expectation of some rain coming so there will be some planting to be done next Monday
