We have a full tray to plant along or near the Stony Rd and/or in Manifest Destiny.
Some tubestock may have to wait a week or so.

We need to clear more planting space at Manifest Destiny by removing cardboard
We need to chop more Cassia at both sites.

Transplant some Sandpaper Figs from the ditch to Manifest Destiny central.

2023 Five point list

Weather should be cool, sunny with a bit of wind. 3 of the 5 activities will need bags. 

Hopefully some adventurous soul will take home some produce to attempt the following:
According to Diego Bonetto's "EAT WEEDS",
Cobblers Pegs or Bidens pilosa can be distilled in gin or used in a salsa verde or pesto, in pasta sauce, stir fries or noodle salad. "The flavour is strong & complex, at first resin & grass but then at the back palate, has sage & oregano tones". 

He, Diego, has a herbalist friend who drinks a daily anti-bacterial tea brewed from fresh & dried leaves of Bidens pilosa.
And its always available!

2022 the arrival of the Welcome sign

The sign explaining the aboriginal links in part* of the area of bush that we care for, arrived today.

Meanwhile the task of removing Morning Glory from Lomandra and Flax-lily (Dianella) continued.

Out of The Wild More chopping along the Stony Road , more Honeysuckle , Blackberry et. al. wrestling east of the cycleway, further Lily hunting and some planting of very locally sourced natives. There are also a few checks needed on Montbretia , Velcro , Madeira , Noogura , Asthma Weed , Cape Ivy & Stonecrop . Noogura  2022 Work list  Time to go back up the creek to a few areas we have neglected recently. Pearl Vine , a native creeper/climber, ( Sarcopetalum harveyanum ) has taken off & we need to prune it from shrubs & small trees before they disappear. Secateurs required, or vast patience & dexterity. There is also a big Mothy near the Gillett bridge , plus some Turkey Rhubarb , Cape Ivy & Morning Glory to be removed near our Prize Fig . A brave soul or two might venture into Lisa's Site and micro-weeders could enjoy the baby Privet et al sprouting in Manifest Destiny . Any 1 or 3 feeling more coastal can take on the free-up weeding of our SE Corner

January 3rd week

No Work Today Forecast suggests there is only a 5% chance of no rain. Montbretia mining & vine peeling from valued natives would have been the priorities. 2023 Urgent tasks are; weeding the tree fall clearing a big Moth Vine in flower Japanese Honeysuckle spreading towards the Blady Grass Morning Glory flowering in the Blady Grass Blackberry , Lilies , Bidens , Fleabane , Nightshade along the south edge of the New Forest . 2022 Weed of the week Balloon Cottonbush was from South Africa originally. We also have a Polygala garden escapee that looks similar until the balloon stage.   So, start in the grassy areas where Montbretia , Lilies , Cottonbush et al are blooming and move to areas where Morning Glory , Asparagus & Cassia are on the march.

September 2nd week

Weed week Asthma weed is regrowing under trees, along track to Steve's beach bag and be wary of respiratory reaction. Woodlands creek ; Honeysuckle regrowth needs pulling/poisoning. Water plantings. SE corner;  Fleabanes , Kikuyu in Lomandras and Morning glory . Also Cape ivy where fence turns. McKellar glade a bit more of a clean out ( Crofton , Polygala and Lantana ). Manifest destiny ; Privet big and little, Cassia , African olive and Cape ivy . Also, with the exception of Mother-of-millions , which may have been eradicated, hunt down and bag/destroy any of the weeds listed below for this week in the previous years. 2022 Weed week As you can see from last year (below) this week is weed week. 2021 target weeds Mother-of-millions (Bryophyllum species) There was an outbreak at Condon's Corner & points adjacent Ochna (Ochna serrulata)   Fleabane , (Conyza species) Burr clover (Medicago polymorpha) near the bridge at the Meeting point Morning glory - coastal (Ipom
