November 2nd week

 Bridge down, Ditch dry, Weeds growing, Weather dry.

 Hewitts Creek site again (8.30 start) with quite a few tasks waiting:

 2024 Offer:

Cut & paint Privet & African Olive regrowth, plus Ted's Cassias in Manifest Destiny.
Lily digging along the south side of the dirt track
Break up & strew the woodpile in Manifest Destiny.
Take on the flowering Honeysuckle east of the Cycleway
Halt a new Turk outbreak near the start of the dirt track

2023 Gladdies for Edna?

Coastal Gladdies will be first up tomorrow, followed by a general Lily search & dig, or a weeding return to Woodlands Ck. Coast Gladdies are very like Lilies in the removal technique (get the bulb).


Choppers can be employed along the Stony Road if they need to chop..

There is more to do in the blady grass, young Formosan Lilies to remove in the New Forest,
some Lomandras to plant and if numbers allow, Lisa's site has some serious weeding on offer.

Back To Flanagans The low areas at Hewitts Crk are still under water & there is mud elsewhere. Flanagans will be considerably drier with its sand base. Choppers & Morning Glory gleaners can proceed to cleanse more of Coupe 2 while Asparagites continue their slow push south. Judging by McCauleys Beach there may also be some beach cleaning required. However, it has become an invasive weed in many parts of the world. It flowers and seeds throughout the year, and its seeds germinate rapidly, forming new plants in only a few weeks. July 3rd week

 Bushie Change of Routine We will swap sites, with next week being at Flanagans & tomorrow at Hewitts. This may also give our Flanagans Bowerbird time to repair his bower which was a bit crushed by a fallen branch. I've watered there a couple of times this last week & our babies are all doing well. Offerings for tomorrow: trim most branches from the fallen Banksia on the dirt track in the hope that the tree can survive horizontally repair/rescue/protect a line of deer victims along our track at the creek bend & check our existing protections creek level has dropped so we can get onto Lisa's site , remove rubbish, drag flood wrack off Crinums & bag any Madeira remove the big Asparagus & lay the rest of the cardboard in Manifest Destiny & continue weeding as per last week fish bike out of creek near the bridge. August 5th week

Springing back  We have inserted an experimental Swamp Banksia into Manifest Destiny and there are still 4 or 5 other sapling trees needing protection so if anyone has some spare garden stakes/posts, we still have enough wire to fence them.  On offer: Velcro plant has reappeared beside cycleway, up near the bend creek edge & back of beach have junk deposits from our throw-away society some minor Turkey Rhubarb, Asparagus & Passionfruit growth along creek edge The full weed range on offer in Manifest Destiny with conditions ideal for extraction & some fallen timber cutting up for the sawyers a check along Stony Road & Woodlands Ck   2022   There has been further Deer damage, done this time to three native Hibiscus - they need a protective guard- and we lost an Illawarra Flame and a Bleeding Heart just across the ditch on Lisa's Site. Cut them off below damage and they may re-shoot.
